Our New Home

I wasn't able to transplant our new blog format at this (Beautiful Child) address. I would have lost this blog entirely and that would have been 4 years of documentation completely undone and lost forever. Ouch. It hurts just to think about it.
So...
In keeping with my itch to grow, I have needed to start over entirely - changing the name and address. Sorry for the inconvenience. Starting today I won't be updating here anymore. Please visit with us at:

The view is huge (900 pixels wide to be exact) and visually I can serve you food. It is quite exciting!

Gifts - Day 33

...sweet reunions.
Though they all look stone faced, they did have fun. The move has been hard on everyone and K felt a little unsure about her place. When K left, Mimi cried on my lap for 15 minutes. An hour later she was playing dress-up and flying to Kansas on an airplane :(

Little Bakers

Pumpkin and spice and everything nice...including chocolate chunks. Yum.

Piggy Painting

Mimi's friend came back for a visit. Happiness could not be contained! It was soooo good to see them again. We had the neighbor kids over for a get-together - they wanted to paint their nails.

Today was a not well feeling day.

Fall-icious

I love the fall and my friend Sarah. I'm so glad that we were able to be spontaneous - to enjoy the beautiful day and our kids!
They are growing up :(
We had a great time!

(sorry, no music)

Gifts - Day 30

...nests.
The sight of this nest got me pondering on instinct - that place of knowing that is programmed inside of every living thing. We are born with it though we enter a world that is awfully noisy. It becomes hard to hear it's direction or even understand it with all that works to compete with and alter it.
I love the simplicity of a bird's nest. No distractions. Just there to serve a purpose.

Treated!

As we were getting ready to leave out today, little miss here looked at me and said,
"Mommy, you look messy. I think you need to go upstairs and change."
Hmph!

Skeleton Pose

The yoga mat - it's a good place to lay your bones.

Gifts - Day 29

...french toast with berries.

Chop, Chop

I love my little kitchen helper. Whenever I approach the kitchen to get meals started I'm asked, "can I help you?" She follows me wanting to contribute any way she can. I always appreciate her enthusiasm and some how, minced mushrooms that have been licked and reclaimed from the floor, have their own delicious appeal :)

Gifts - Day 28

...movement.
There was no school today and no activity planned. It was a windy day and I had a girl at home with her usual energy. We needed to get out and move. The dancing trees and blowing leaves caught my eye. We ventured outdoors and I tried to capture the movement. I am experimenting with shutter speed. Stopping motion is a skill that takes some practice and it is a hard one to master artistically.

FYI...

I am in the process of changing blog homes. I will be leaving Blogger and moving into a new space that can best showcase my delicious photos :) I have so enjoyed my stay here for the last 4 years but do need a grander space to grow creatively. I hope you will continue to join me.
I don't anticipate any interruption during the change over (but we all know how that can go), but in case my current blog gets swallowed up and a new face appears - you'll know why :)
